HISTORY

To really understand our vision and purpose as we move forward, one needs to reflect on where we started.

After pioneering a church in Durbanville, Cape Town (1996–2003) and being part of the leadership team, we felt that God was calling us to “step out of the boat” and plant a church in Paarl.

This was not a “mushroom” idea that sprouted up overnight, but rather a combination of circumstances and events that lead us to this point. During that time, many people were actually travelling from Paarl to Durbanville to attend Sunday morning celebration.  For many years the idea of planting a church in Paarl was prayerfully considered and it was just a matter of God’s timing.

At the beginning of 2003 the vision for planting this church was set before our Apostolic Oversight (COTN : Church of the Nations – see “Affiliation).

By June 2003, we believed that this church plant was not just a “good idea”, but rather a “God idea” and in August of the same year, our family relocated to Paarl and we held our first service in our living room.

We were excited and ready to draw on previous years of “pioneering experience” to accomplish the vision that the Lord had placed in our hearts, that being to :

ESTABLISHING HIS PEOPLE - EXTENDING HIS KINGDOM

This has become our vision statement and we believe that in order for God’s kingdom to be extended in Paarl and the surrounding areas we need to establish people in the ways of God.

The desire of our hearts is to see people established in their individual relationships with Jesus Christ and to see them walking in His redemptive purposes.
