Establishing His people – Extending His kingdom

Having a vision is great, but if you don’t know how to fulfil it, then it seems rather pointless. At Paarl Family Church (PFC) we are inspired by two key scriptures:


The Great Commandment - Matthew 22:36-40

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart ... soul ... and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.’”

The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

From these two scriptures we can highlight 5 eternal purposes:

Love the Lord your God	(MAGNIFY)
Love your neighbour as yourself	(MINISTRY)
Go and make disciples	(MISSION)
Baptize them	(MEMBERSHIP)
Teaching them to obey	(MATURITY)

At PFC, we have taken these 5 key words and used them to summarize our purpose statement, in other words, “why we exist as a church”

To bring people to Jesus and MEMBERSHIP in His family,
develop them to Christlike MATURITY and
equip them for their MINISTRY in the church and
life MISSION in the world
in order to MAGNIFY God’s name.

PFC is a Kingdom family church and we are totally committed to each other and our community.  We also acknowledge Godly authority and order within the local church.  We value each person and recognize the worth and significance that God places on each individual.

Our Core Values are:

MEMBERSHIP:

•    Living a Kingdom based lifestyle.
•    Openness, honesty and integrity in relationships.
•    Being committed to the rest of the church family.
•    Kingdom relationships built on the principles of “Fathers and Sons.”

MATURITY:

•    Living a Christ-centred life expressing the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
•    Establishing an intimate relationship with God.

MINISTRY:

•    Developing an attitude of “excellence in ministry”.
•    Building effective team ministry.
•    Focusing on the priesthood of all believers.
•    Establishing Kingdom government.

MISSIONS:

•    Empowering the Kingdom.
•    Having a heart for the lost.
•    Impacting our communities through service.
•    Reaching the nations of the world.

MAGNIFY:

•    Being a spirit-filled church.
•    Teaching the integrity and authority of the Bible.
•    Creating a comfortable worship environment.
